A few months before the 2004 European Parliament elections, we were asked to do the technical implementation of a campaign website.
The complexity was mainly because of the huge amount of languages and different types of content. Each section of the FYEG, the Federation of young European Greens had its own content and language.

For the frontpage we made a selectable map, with content that changes when you hover a region on the map. After selecting alanguage you are presented with a slideshow in the chosen language.

Then you see the content: A set of articles displayed in the center of the page. A random background image loads on each pageload.
For this we developed a small CMS, that allows people in each language to add remove and alter the content.
